Zara and Mike Tindall enjoyed a fun-filled day out with their three young children in Stamford, Lincolnshire, over the weekend. The Royal couple headed to the Defender Burghley Horse Trials with Mia, 10, Lena, six, and Lucas, three, on Saturday, 7 September for some quality family time.

Former rugby ace Mike, 45, looked every inch the doting dad as he held hands with son Lucas and carried him around the event. The dad-of-three sported a casual white t-shirt and jeans, paired with a baseball cap and backpack, while Lucas looked adorable in a red top and blue shorts. The three year old looked to be having a great time as he played with his two older sisters at the outdoor event.

However, Zara came off her horse at Rolex Corners, therefore she was knocked out of the competition. Thankfully, both Zara and her horse were unharmed. During her performance, she was also nearly unseated jumping into the Trout Hatchery but she managed to hold on.

It marked a rare mishap from Zara, who boasts an incredible equestrian career. As the daughter of Princess Anne and granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II, Zara's passion of horse riding and ambition was passed down through her family. She is a former world eventing champion and has had a successful career in the field. In 2012, she became the first member of the Royal Family to win an Olympic medal as part of Team GB.

In the programme, she will discuss the significance of annual festival, which takes place every March. In clips from the documentary, she speaks about competitors wanting to win and also confesses that watching the competition can be more nerve-wracking than participating.
