Our Yorkshire Farm star Reuben Owen admits to 'upsetting police' in France after 'slight incident'
Reuben Owen from TV hit Our Yorkshire Farm has revealed an eventful trip to France with Channel 5 buddies Sarah Dow with Tommy - revealing he "upset" quite a few locals and was pulled over by police.
Chatting about his favourite moments, Reuben gushed: "My favourite part of the holiday was driving my Land Rover in France. I loved it."
He likened the experience to classic Top Gear adventures, saying, "It made me think of those old episodes of Top Gear when they go across a country in a slightly knackered vehicle. That's what it felt like. The old Land Rover never let us down, the French motorways were lovely, and you cruise along with all the French people looking on. They don't see very many Land Rovers over there."
But not everything went smoothly for the TV star, who confessed to a "slight incident" on the road. "I think I upset some police people," he said. "I was basically on the wrong side of the road. I heard the sirens coming and I thought I would get myself off the road but because it's the opposite of what it is over here, I ended up just getting more in their way."
The young farmer recalled the moment he came face to face with the law, adding: "So I was pulled over and told off by a French policeman. I think it was caught on camera with us all in the Land Rover, so it'll be aired on TV. I apologised to the French police. I didn't know what I was doing! ", reports the Express.
On a personal note, Reuben opened up about his love life and recent breakup with ex Sarah. He said "Me and Sarah were together, we're no longer together but we're still very good friends."
The romance between Reuben and Sarah blossomed after they connected through their co-star Tommy. Previously discussing how they met, Sarah said on Beyond The Yorkshire Farm: "I met Reuben through Tommy, actually. We just got on really well and he taught me some stuff."
The show saw Sarah levelling up her skills, as she revealed: "I'm going to do an engineering course at college and I feel like I could adapt some of this towards that because I kind of know a bit about the machines now."
Our Yorkshire Farm was cancelled by Channel 5. However viewers were treated to three episodes on the channel on Saturday, 18 May, from 3pm.
