This Morning fans left fuming as controversial guest announced for ITV show

This Morning enthusiasts are absolutely livid as Gemma Collins, former Towie celeb, is set to join the popular ITV programme as a presenter.

On Tuesday's show (June 25), regulars Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley were steering the ship when they dropped the bombshell that Gemma will be stepping in on Friday.

Traditionally, Fridays on This Morning have seen Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary charm viewers. However, this week will bring a twist with Alison teaming up with Gemma for the end-of-week slot.

The announcement didn't sit well with fans, prompting them to vent their frustration on social media platform X. A disgruntled viewer posted: "Reminder to self Do Not Watch Friday's #ThisMorning Do not want my day ruining by Gemma Collins."

While a fourth also chimed: Are you f*****g kidding me @thismorning? Gemma Collins of all people on your silly little show this Friday?"

The news of Gemma's appearance comes after presenter and comedian Jason Manford snubbed This Morning. It was recently announced Jason will be joining the BBC's Morning Live after he stated he wouldn't want a spot presenting This Morning.

The comedian recently said: "I’m delighted to have been asked to guest co-host Morning Live this week. I always love supporting a Manchester based show and every time I’ve been on as a guest, the team have always been a real pleasure to work with. I’m looking forward to bringing a little chaos to the sofa once we go live!"

Jason, who is famous for appearing on shows such as 8 out of 10 Cats and Starstruck previously ruled himself out of the This Morning job amid Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield's departure last year. He told Metro: "‘I'm quite a night owl. It doesn’t quite fit in with stand-up, which involves working in the evenings.

"Maybe I would have done it 20 years ago when I was a bit younger and could burn the candle at both ends. I definitely need a nice sleep, and not early starts."
