Kourtney Kardashian underwent a "terrifying" emergency surgery on her then unborn baby due to a "super rare" problem.

Back in November 2023, the 45 year old star gave birth to her little boy Rocky with husband Travis Barker, but just two months before that, her doctor noticed something concerning during a scan.

Chatting on this week's episode of 'The Kardashians', Kourtney said: "We had planned a scan at home, so that all the kids could see the baby."

"The doctor who will come to the house to do the scan is a high-risk doctor, who's really detailed and thorough at looking for everything. And something caught his eye where he wanted me to see a couple specialists."

After those consultations, Kourtney needed an operation on her son the next morning - an experience she said was both "terrifying" and "stressful".

While Kourtney hasn't disclosed what the issue exactly was, she admitted the discovery was perfectly on time, saying it "saved everything".

She added: "The timing of it was miraculous. That saved everything."

Quoting her doctor, she shared: "My doctor's like, 'There's nothing that you did wrong. It's not age-related. It's just a super rare thing that happened.'".

Her man Travis had flown off for a Blink-182 tour around Europe, leaving Kris Jenner to take Kourtney to hospital while he rushed back stateside.

She added: "The thing that was awful was his WiFi was broken on the plane. I was sending him updates and my mom was sending him updates."

"He couldn't get anything and he kept checking, like every two hours on the plane, 'Can you reset the WiFi? '".

Kourtney - who shares kids Mason, 14, Penelope, 11, and nine year old Reign with ex Scott Disick - had already gone through the procedure by the time Travis touched down because it was urgent and needed doing "right away".

She managed to stay composed during the crisis, but once they stepped out of the hospital, she could finally let her guard down.

She shared: "There's some superpower that I have - that in emergency situations, I get really calm."

"And then right when we left, I was like, 'OK, I can take a deep breath. I could cry. I could get it out.'".

Despite the ordeal being a "trauma" for both Kourtney and Travis, they remained optimistic about their little one's health.

She expressed: "I just feel so grateful that how everything played out and for the doctors that really helped make the best decisions that really saved our baby."

"After this happened, I was like, 'God's got this. We're good. This is a miracle and we're just going to be super positive.'".
