Ant McPartlin’s sweet gesture to best pal Declan Donnelly 'revealed' after he becomes a dad
Following the exciting news that Ant McPartlin has become a dad for the first time, the TV presenter has reportedly sent a sweet gesture to his best pal Declan Donnelly.
The Britain's Got Talent host, 48, welcomed his first child with wife Anne-Marie Corbett and announced the incredible news via social media on Tuesday 14 May, with a beautiful black-and-white snap of him holding his newborn son.
The post was shared to Ant and Dec's official joint account, which boasts 5.1M followers. Ant captioned the image: "Welcome to the family. Wilder Patrick Mcpartlin. Born, 14/05/24 at 8.54am Baby is beautiful, Mummy’s a legend, Sisters are over the moon. Dad’s a mess!"
But it appears that Ant's best friend Dec isn't too far from his mind as, according to The Sun, insiders say the new dad has made his telly partner Declan Donnelly, 48, the baby boy’s godfather. Dec also acted as Ant's best man at his wedding to Anne-Marie in 2021.
OK! have reached out to Ant and Dec's representatives for comment.
In the picture, a new tattoo can be seen on Ant's shoulder, with the ink a sweet tribute to his blended family. Ant's tattoo shows a huge blossoming tree with the names - Amzie (presumably for his wife of three years Anne-Marie), his two step daughters, Daisy and Poppy, and Ant's two pooches - Milo and Bumble.
Celeb pals of Ant and Anne have raced to congratulate the couple. Davina McCall wrote: "Argggghhhhhhhhh!! This is AMAZING !!!! Congratulations to ALL of you".
While Joel Dommet wrote: "LOVE THIS", and Vicky Pattison penned: "Congratulations guys. Omg!!! Love the name". Stars such as Jamie Redknapp and Ashley Banjo also sent their congratulations.
Also in the adorable snap, Ant showed off his new tattoo which shows a huge blossoming tree with the names - Amzie (presumably for his wife of three years Anne-Marie), his two step daughters, Daisy and Poppy, and Ant's two pet dogs - Milo and Bumble.
It was rumoured earlier this year that the couple were expecting their first child together and, according to The Sun, a source previously commented on the baby news.
The said: “This is the news everyone wanted. Ant and Anne-Marie are beyond delighted. It’s no secret that Ant has always wanted children, but that it may never happen for him was something he had, sadly, come to terms with.
“When they found out last year, they were absolutely delighted, but obviously kept the news quiet for as long as possible. To be having a child two years short of his 50th birthday, with the love of his life, is the stuff of dreams for Ant."
"He’s already a wonderful, doting father to Anne-Marie’s kids, and together they’re going to be brilliant parents to this latest addition to the family.
