Ant McPartlin admits he's a 'mess' as he proudly shares first snap of newborn son
Ant McPartlin has admitted he is a 'mess' after welcoming his first child, a little boy, with Anne-Marie Corbett this week, sharing the sweet news to Instagram with an update.
Sharing a monochrome snap to the platform, a shirtless Ant can be seen cradling baby Wilder in his arms, with the caption revealing that he was born on Tuesday morning. The new arrival is Ant's first child, while Anne-Marie has two daughters, Poppy and Daisy, from a previous marriage.
Referencing the whole family, new dad Ant wrote: "Welcome to the family. Wilder Patrick Mcpartlin. Born, 14/05/24 at 8.54 am. Baby is beautiful, Mummy’s a legend, Sisters are over the moon. Dad’s a mess!". The post was shared to Ant and Dec Donnelly's official joint account, which boasts 5.1M followers.
In the picture, a new tattoo can be seen on Ant's shoulder, with the ink a sweet tribute to his blended family. Ant's tattoo shows a huge blossoming tree with the names - Amzie (presumably for his wife of three years Anne-Marie), his two step daughters, Daisy and Poppy, and Ant's two pooches - Milo and Bumble.
Celeb pals of Ant and Anne have raced to congratulate the couple. Davina McCall wrote: "Argggghhhhhhhhh!! This is AMAZING !!!! Congratulations to ALL of you".
While Joel Dommet wrote: "LOVE THIS", and Vicky Pattison penned: "Congratulations guys. Omg!!! Love the name". Stars such as Jamie Redknapp and Ashley Banjo also sent their congratulations.
It was rumoured earlier this year that Ant and Anne-Marie were expecting their first child together after three years of marriage.
According to The Sun, a source previously commented on the baby news, saying: “This is the news everyone wanted. Ant and Anne-Marie are beyond delighted. It’s no secret that Ant has always wanted children, but that it may never happen for him was something he had, sadly, come to terms with.
“When they found out last year, they were absolutely delighted, but obviously kept the news quiet for as long as possible. To be having a child two years short of his 50th birthday, with the love of his life, is the stuff of dreams for Ant."
They added: "He’s already a wonderful, doting father to Anne-Marie’s kids, and together they’re going to be brilliant parents to this latest addition to the family.”
Ant was previously married to make-up artist Lisa Armstrong for 11 years. However, in 2017, they announced their split before finalising their divorce in a quick 30-second hearing.
After his marriage to Lisa ended, Ant started dating Anne-Marie, who worked at the same management company as best friend Declan Donnelly's wife, Ali Astall, for ten years.
