Ant McPartlin's baby joy as he welcomes first child with wife Anne-Marie and reveals beautiful name

Ant McPartlin has announced he's welcomed his first child with wife Anne-Marie Corbett.

The Britain's Got Talent host, 48, announced the incredible news via social media on Tuesday 14 May, with a beautiful black-and-white snap of him holding his newborn son. The post was shared to Ant and Dec Donnelly's official joint account, which boasts 5.1M followers.

Ant captioned the image: "Welcome to the family. Wilder Patrick Mcpartlin. Born, 14/05/24 at 8.54am Baby is beautiful, Mummy’s a legend, Sisters are over the moon. Dad’s a mess!"

In the snap, Ant also showed off his new tattoo which shows a huge blossoming tree with the names - Amzie (presumably for his wife of three years Anne-Marie), his two step daughters, Daisy and Poppy, and Ant's two pet dogs - Milo and Bumble.

It was rumoured earlier this year that Ant and Anne-Marie were expecting their first child together after three years of marriage.

According to The Sun, a source previously commented on the baby news, saying: “This is the news everyone wanted. Ant and Anne-Marie are beyond delighted. It’s no secret that Ant has always wanted children, but that it may never happen for him was something he had, sadly, come to terms with.

“When they found out last year, they were absolutely delighted, but obviously kept the news quiet for as long as possible. To be having a child two years short of his 50th birthday, with the love of his life, is the stuff of dreams for Ant."

"He’s already a wonderful, doting father to Anne-Marie’s kids, and together they’re going to be brilliant parents to this latest addition to the family.”

And it appears that Britain's Got Talent host Ant had already confided in his best friend Declan Donnelly, 48, about the incredibly exciting news. Anne-Marie, 46, already has two children from a previous marriage, but Ant has reportedly always wanted to be a dad.

Ant, who first graced our screens in 1989 as PJ in the Geordie teen drama, Byker Grove, tied the knot with Anne-Marie back in August 2021. Before they said 'I do', however, Ant was married to make-up artist Lisa Armstrong for 23 years. However, in 2017, they announced their split before finalising their divorce in a quick 30-second hearing.

During this time, the star faced a rather turbulent few years, which saw him endure a well-documented battle with addiction.

After his marriage to Lisa ended, Ant started dating Anne-Marie, who worked at the same management company as best friend Declan Donnelly's wife, Ali Astall, for ten years.

Anne-Marie had separated from her husband, the father of her two children just a few months before Ant's divorce was finalised.

In an interview with The Sun, Ant said that neither he nor Anne-Marie were looking for love when they grew closer: "We were going through turmoil. It was the last thing on either of our minds to get into a relationship. But there we were like 'This felt so good, why deny it.'"

The couple started renting a six-bedroom home in 2018, before moving into their own place the following year. Ant proposed to Anne-Marie on Christmas Eve 2020 and they got married in 2021, with Dec being his best man - again.
