Why Princess Anne is the real style icon behind The Traitors
If, like us, you spend half of your time watching The Traitors wondering where Claudia got her jacket from, or daydreaming about her latest cape or mid-calf boots, then do we have a revelation for you.
Speaking on The Graham Norton Show, Claudia Winkleman revealed there was a surprising source of fashion inspiration behind her now iconic looks on The Traitors: Princess Anne. The Princess Royal's country-chic looks in particular are what partly inspired Claudia's style on the BBC show, the presenter revealed.
Claudia collaborates with her stylist of 20 years, Sinead McKeefry, on her looks, and explained that the pair always "like to have a muse" to inspire ideas for different shows and events.
Discussing the inspo behind her looks on The Traitors, Claudia revealed that the pair had chosen to combine influences from The Princess Royal, and soprano singer Sarah Brightman.
Princess Anne is known for her love of practical, off duty pieces, including wellington boots and classic hats. Many of her looks are multi-layered outfits, featuring tweed jackets, khaki coats and trousers, and neutral basics. Decorative scarfs and ties are also staple accessories in Princess Anne's wardrobe.
With Claudia's reliance on tweed, classic silhouettes and layering in her looks - rooted in neutral, black and khaki tones - across The Traitors series so far, her royal influence becomes clear.
The latest series of The Traitors has been a huge talking point once again this year, making headlines for the drama and interactions between the faithful and traitorous contestants, as well as for Claudia's now iconic fashion choices. We can't get enough.
