When is Pippa Middleton's wedding, where is it and who's attending?

Pippa Middleton’s wedding is the most talked about event of the year. The 33-year-old sister of the Duchess of Cambridge may not be a member of the royal family but her wedding to James Matthews is equally as high-profile.

Here’s all the inside details on the big day:

Who is Pippa marrying?

Pippa is marrying hedge fund manager James Matthews. The 41-year-old millionaire is the chief executive of Eden Rock Capital Management Group; a company he co-founded in 2001.

His family is well-known on the London circuit. James’ brother, Spencer Matthews, is recognised for being Made in Chelsea’s signature lothario while his parents, David Matthews and Jane Parker, own the five-star Eden Rock Caribbean hotel in St Barths.

When is it?

Saturday, May 20 is the confirmed date of the couple’s wedding.

Where is it?

Pippa and James’ wedding will be held in St Mark’s Church in the Middleton’s hometown of Englefield, Berkshire. The 12th century church is on a private estate away from prying eyes (and unfortunately any public hoping to catch a glimpse of the wedding party.)

Where is the reception taking place?

Post-ceremony drinks will be held at the nearby Englefield House. Pippa wanted her wedding to be a family event so the main evening reception is set to be in the 18-acre grounds of her parents’ £6 million Georgian mansion.

A grand marquee will be erected in the garden of the Grade II listed property which is located just a few miles away from the church.

What will Pippa wear?

Just like her sister, Pippa is keeping quiet on her wedding dress. British designer Giles Deacon has been earmarked as the designer after being spotted carrying garment bags into the bride-t-be’s house last November. Expected to choose a romantic English style

Society insiders have given their thoughts on Pippa’s dress style. Many believe she will steer clear of anything similar to Kate’s Alexander McQueen creation – instead going for a more romantic English style.

High-end milliner Stephen Jones is thought to be creating an extra special veil for Pippa. He was seen leaving the couple’s house just two weeks ago.

Who’s the best man?

James’ brother, 27-year-old Spencer Matthews, will be best man. Apparently, he has been asked to keep his raucous antics on the down low in the weeks leading up to the wedding.

Who are Pippa’s bridesmaids?

Pippa hasn’t confirmed the names of her bridesmaids just yet. Although many expected the Duchess of Cambridge to lead the bridesmaid brigade, it is thought that Kate will take on a much quieter role in the ceremony after worries that she will upstage her sister.

That leaves Pippa’s closest childhood friends and a cousin or two as the bridesmaid party. 14-year-old Tallulah Goldsmith – the daughter of Pippa’s uncle Gary – is looking very likely.

Who’s going?

Only 150 people are rumoured to have been invited in keeping with Pippa’s wish for an intimate day. It’s a completely different story to her sister’s 1900 guests.

Of course, Kate, William, Prince George and Princess Charlotte will be attending. George is set to be a page boy while the little Princess will take on the role of flower girl. The Duchess is expected to read at the ceremony.

Prince Harry will also be there on the day though it is unclear if he will be flying solo. Thanks to Pippa’s ‘no ring, no bring’ policy, guests can only bring a plus one if they are married. However, if Harry’s gilrfriend Meghan Markle is allowed to attend, this will be the royal couple’s first major public outing.

Celebrities including tennis star Roger Federer and Ben Fogle are also thought to be on the guest list.

What will Pippa’s title be?

Pippa may not be royalty but she will still be gaining a noble title after marriage. When James’ father dies, the couple will become Laird and Lady Glen Affric.

Until then, Pippa will be known as Mrs Matthews of Glen Affric the younger. She can use this title anywhere in the Commonwealth.

How did James propose?

James proposed in July 2016 while on holiday in the Lake District. Ever the traditionalist, James asked Pippa’s father, Michael Middleton, for his daughter’s hand in marriage.

Pippa’s engagement ring is an unmissable one. The four-carat Asscher-cut diamond piece is reportedly worth around £200,000 and is set on an octagonal ring.

The couple had been friends for over a decade when James proposed but had only been dating for a year.

Where will the couple live?

The couple are already living in James’ £17 million Chelsea home. Pippa moved into the lavish abode in May last year.

The West London house includes everything you could possibly need from an underground cinema to a roomy gym. Bought by James in 2014, it boasts six bedrooms along with a room for staff.

Where will their honeymoon be?

Kenya is tipped to be the couple’s honeymoon destination. The African haven coincidentally has a lot of royal connections.

It was the place Prince William proposed to Pippa’s sister Kate and was also where the Queen found out she was about to take power when her father died.
