Prince George and Princess Charlotte set for starring roles in Pippa Middleton's wedding
Rumours circulating Pippa Middleton’s upcoming wedding to hedge fund manager James Matthews have been ongoing since the couple announced their engagement last July.
But the couple have finally confirmed they will wed on 20 May in the Middleton hometown of Englefield, Berkshire and a couple of cheeky Royal faces will have a starring role.
Princess Charlotte, who will have just celebrated her second birthday, will take up the role of flower girl and walk down the aisle with Pippa. Prince George, who will turn four in July, will act as page boy.
Kensington Palace confirmed the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s attendance as well as Prince Harry.
The wedding will take place at St Mark’s Church; a much more intimate venue than sister Kate’s Westminster Abbey location.
The church is located on a private estate so unfortunately, the public won’t be able to witness the wedding party’s arrival.
Only 150 people are thought to have been invited. Pippa reportedly has a strict ‘no ring, no bring’ policy meaning only married couples are allowed to attend.
The reception will be held at Michael and Carole Middleton’s grand Georgian home a few miles away. A huge marquee will be erected in the 18-acre grounds and ‘posh’ Portaloos have been ordered.
Kate won’t be a bridesmaid (to keep all the attention on her sister) but is expected to read at the ceremony. Prince Harry has also been confirmed to attend. If he brings girlfriend Meghan Markle, this will be the royal couple’s first official outing together.
Made in Chelsea star Spencer Matthews is set to be his brother James’ best man while Pippa’s brother, James Middleton, will form one of the groomsmen.
It’s unclear who will make up Pippa’s bridesmaids but stay tuned.
As for the all-important dress? British designer Giles Deacon was spotted carrying garment bags into Pippa’s London home last November, sparking speculation that he will be the man behind her wedding dress.
Of course, the designer has denied all rumours with details of the dress expected to be hidden until the big reveal on Pippa and James’ wedding day.
High-end milliner Stephen Jones is thought to be creating an extra special veil for Pippa. He was seen leaving the couple’s house last week.
Chelsea-based florist Lavender Green is responsible for the flowers with blooms expected to include springtime flowers such as daffodils.
Pippa’s hen do was a secret affair. Kate and friends were flown in a private jet to the French ski resort of Meribel for a girly weekend full of luxurious treats.
