It seems like everyday people are learning a new life hack.

Recently, a trick to unlock your supermarket trolley without a coin went viral. A man kindly demonstrated a simple method to access the basket on wheels without needing a £1 to rescue your food shopping experience.

Now we have another trick – although this one is beneficial for the kitchen. In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Today Years Old, which boasts 1.1million followers, showed how you can close a cereal box without needing a clip or anything.

The post went viral as it also racked up 1.6million views, 1,600 retweets and a whopping 14,000 likes. It starts with a man showing how to close a cereal box by folding the sides.

And the man even went as far as saying he was 27 years of age when he learned the hack. So did you know about this game-changing trick?

He said in the video: "Okay so cereal boxes you can't really shut them can you? They always open up again. So you take the two sidings then fold them in and tuck this part inside. Now look at that, a bit of useful information for you."

Not only has it fascinated him, but others were going wild for the trick. Out of the hundreds of comments, one said: "No way, didn't know this. Wow." Another added: "I just went and closed all my boxes like that."

A third commented: "I don't believe that. I can't believe that." Meanwhile a fourth went as far as saying: "This man needs a Nobel prize. He has changed cereal forever."

Then a fifth chimed in: "It's fascinating how we can still discover simple yet effective tricks well into adulthood. The idea of folding the box inside a cereal box to keep it fresh is both practical and amusing!"

It's a pretty useful trick for people who eat cereal for breakfast as it helps to keep a box fresh for longer. Also it means you don't have to scramble the kitchen drawers for a clip to close the box, or a dispenser to pop it in.
