Love Island’s Maya Jama has promised fans that she’s still “best friends” with one of her Aftersun co-hosts, after people critiqued his last show appearance as awkward.

Jordan Stephens joined Maya at the Aftersun set and appeared to be stressing Maya out with his questions about the show. Viewers of the show were worried about their friendship when Maya appeared to be uncomfortable alongside Jordan throughout the show.

However, Maya was quick to put the comments to bed, as she posted on her Instagram story: “For those that don't know Jordan is one of my best friends (some of you think I'm stressed by his comments on aftersun and I love it, I'm just being professional)”

Aftersun is the debrief show at the end of a long week in the Love Island Villa. It is filled with gossip, secrets, and unseen bits. Usually Maya is joined by former Love Islanders and other celeb guests to spill their takes on the Villa this year.

There was certainly a lot to catch up on last week, as new bombshells came in, and other Islanders were sent packing. Fans were especially riled up last week about Joey’s relationship with new bombshell Grace, as many accused the pair of having a game plan before they entered the villa.

Meanwhile love triangles are still the talk of the villa, with Ronnie remaining torn between Jess and Harriet, Ayo resolving his feelings with Mimii and Uma, and Samantha getting dumped by Joey in favour of Grace.

The Rizzle Kicks star has been a regular on Aftersun since 2023. The 32-year-old is no stranger to TV hosting, as he has hosted his own ITV show ‘Don’t Hate The Playaz,’ since 2018. In this panel show, two teams battle through different hip-hop challenges for the ultimate prize of bragging rights. In fact, one of the team captains on Jordan’s show is none other than Maya Jama, showing their bond extends far beyond Love Island ’s Aftersun.

Maya has been busy between flights to the Villa, as she was spotted at the Serpentine Summer Party in a Love Island inspired outfit of just a bralette and a sheer leopard print cover-up. She looked absolutely stunning at the bash alongside celebs such as Joy Crooks, Jordan Dunn, Alexa Chung, and even Venus Williams. The party was to celebrate the new Serpentine Summer Pavilion, designed this year by Korean architect Minsuk Cho.
