King Charles gives David Beckham a job as pair seen in hysterics by Rod Stewart's 'fingers' gag
Sir Rod Stewart had a right laugh with King Charles and David Beckham at a star-studded event in London on Tuesday evening. The celebs were out in force for The King's Foundation Awards at St James’s Palace, where Charles, who has been cutting back on Royal duties since his cancer diagnosis, got to meet some of the famous attendees.
At one point, Rod had Charles and Becks in fits of laughter with a cheeky gag. The 79 year old rocker was seen making a funny gesture that had the King and Beckham chuckling away.
Rod's wife Penny Lancaster was also there, sharing a sweet moment with Charles as she planted a kiss on his cheek.
The King's Foundation Awards is all about celebrating the amazing work of students, teachers, alumni and partners who have made a big difference to the Foundation's mission across various sectors.
David has recently been unveiled as a charity ambassador for the King's Foundation. Amid husband David's ongoing work with King Charles, former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham has reportedly planned to become Lady Beckham. Has a ring to it!
Meanwhile, Rod wasn't at the awards to perform, he was handing out the Teaching Award to one deserving individual at the inaugural event. Looking sharp in a cream blazer, white shirt and black tie, Rod seemed to be having a great time.
He also shared a joke with David as he took to the stage to present an award and teased the former footballer that his knighthood was “coming soon”.
Of his joke at David’s expense, Sir Rod told reporters at the event: “Someone has to lighten the atmosphere in the room you know – he’s a good sport.”
Other celebs at the awards included actress Sienna Miller, supermodel Naomi Campbell and TV star Alan Titchmarsh, who all got to pose for a special picture with the King.
Rock legend Rod recently flew to the picturesque city of Dubrovnik, Croatia, for a very special occasion - his son Liam Stewart's wedding. The 29 year old ice hockey star said 'I do' to his sweetheart Nicole Artukovich at the historic St. Ignatius Church. It was a day filled with joy as Rod, bursting with pride, witnessed Liam and Nicole's heartfelt vows in a ceremony that was all about family.
The event also saw Rod amicably catching up with his ex-wife Rachel Hunter, Liam's mum, proving that family unity was the theme of the day.
Rod took to Instagram to give fans a glimpse into the post-wedding relaxation, posting a cheeky photo with his youngest son Aiden, born in 2011.
In the snapshot, Rod is seen sporting a smart blazer and shirt combo, but with a twist his trousers are hilariously dropped to his ankles, revealing his bright red boxers, while his designer socks are on full display. With a sense of humour about the situation, Rod captioned the image: "How to embarrass your youngest at the hotel bar after a long weekend of activities."
