David Beckham shows support for daughter-in-law Nicola Peltz after family heartbreak
David Beckham is showing public support for his daughter-in-law Nicola Peltz after the "hardest month of her life." Nicola, 29, who married Brooklyn Beckham, 25, in 2022, faced fresh heartache after she suddenly lost her beloved dog Nala, just weeks after her grandmother Bunny, whom she calls Naunni died.
The England football star, 49, showed his sympathy for Nicola by reposting an emotional statement she penned on social media, alongside a heart emoji. Nicola wrote: "My heart has been shattered these last few months. This last month in particular has been one of the most painful I've ever gone through.
"From my naunni's passing to my angel Nala's shocking and sudden death - going into the dog groomers healthy and coming out in distress and passing a few hours after - our entire family is devastated."
She added: "The response to the tragedy in my comments, DM's and texts from others that detail similar horrifying experiences with their animals and groomers has shocked me to my core.
"Never in my wildest nightmares could I have imagined other families experiencing the same pain and horror. As most of you know, one of my life's missions has always been advocating for the safety and well-being of dogs and animals.
"I will advocate to help make sure this never happens to another family, because this pain is unbearable. I am relentlessly investigating the situation to find out exactly what happened in that groomer's van.
"I am doing everything I can to uncover the truth. If her death was not due to foul play, then why isn't the groomer cooperating with our investigation - they currently are not. Nala was the most amazing, energetic, and happy puppy, and deserves better than this heartbreaking ending. I can't thank you all enough for your love and support during this time."
It comes as Victoria Beckham's daughter-in-law, Nicola Peltz, explained why she wasn't in attendance at the former Spice Girl's 50th birthday bash in April.
The 29 year old shared a photo of David and Victoria Beckham posing with their children before the A-list party, as she broke her silence on why she couldn’t make it. The wife of Brooklyn Beckham revealed that she had opted to spend her last moments with her elderly grandmother instead.
The actress took to her Instagram Stories as she wrote: "Happy birthday to my beautiful mil @victoriabeckham I'm so sad I'm not there to celebrate you and hug you! Sending all my love from me and my naunni [white love heart emoji] I miss you all so much!"
