Red carpet waves

In 2011, Meghan Markle often opted for brushed-out waves before gracing the red carpet. In fact, it’s a look she’s rocked for several royal engagements thus far (just with layers chopped in). [Photo: Getty]

From her famous messy bun to royal waves: How will Meghan Markle wear her hair on the big day?

We may not have pinpointed Meghan Markle‘s wedding dress designer just yet and are still hopelessly awaiting further details on the exclusive guest list but we do know the man behind her hair.

Celebrity hairstylist, Miguel Perez, confirmed to the Mail on Sunday that he will not only be attending the May 19 ceremony but will also be in charge of the 36-year-old’s hair ahead of the big day. No pressure there then…

But it won’t be the first time the pair have worked together, as he is the stylist behind her now-famous tendrils and that makeshift bun. Meghan was first introduced to the A-list hair guru by Amal Clooney whose sleek waves are courtesy of the stylist.

“Yes, I do Meghan’s hair. I do Amal’s, and Meghan is friends with her,” Perez explained to the newspaper.

He added: “I also do George’s, I do the whole family. Amal put Meghan and me together when she moved here. I do her colour, her cut and her styling.”

But how will the former actress wear her hair on the big day?

Since the soon-to-be newlywed’s engagement was announced, Meghan has fine-tuned her royal wardrobe to feature Buckingham Palace-approved hats, hemlines and Strathberry bags.

And as her newfound style has flourished under the media spotlight so has her hair.

For her first royal outing, the former actress stepped out boasting soft waves similar to her post-engagement look. But on her second public appearance, the 36-year-old introduced the world to her now-famous messy bun (tendrils and all).

But the question remains: will she follow in her future sister-in-law the Duchess of Cambridge’s footsteps and don a half-up ‘do on the big day or will she stick to her gut instinct and opt for a messy bun complete with a sparkly tiara?

From seriously glossy Hollywood locks to her now-trademark waves, take a look back at some of Meghan’s greatest hair moments to date and give your predictions on which she’ll choose for the big day.
