The Duchess of Sussex has arrived at Prince Louis’ christening opting for an atypical outfit choice.

The 36-year-old arrived hand-in-hand with her husband the Duke of Sussex ahead of the service at the Chapel Royal at St. James’s Palace in London.

For the occasion, the Duchess wore a khaki Ralph Lauren dress which featured her favoured bateau neckline, cinched at the waist with a thin belt.

She paired the dress with a bespoke hat by Stephen Jones (worn with a sleek low ponytail) and matching Manolo Blahnik suede pumps.

It is the second fashion hit in quick succession for the Duchess, who wowed at the Your Commonwealth Youth Reception on Sunday wearing a canary yellow dress by US designer Brandon Maxwell.

Like Maxwell, Ralph Lauren is another iconic American brand – a sure nod to Meghan’s heritage.

The choice of colour was another step away from the neutral tones she’s been championing since her wedding to Prince Harry, and a welcome move among critics and fans.

Khaki is a colour we haven’t seen royals wear in recent history, bar Queen Letizia of Spain who wore a caped dress in the colour to the National Sport Awards in Madrid earlier this year.

The chic Ralph Lauren creation is sure to have sell-out potential, as does nearly every outfit the Duchess wears in public.

This morning, it was confirmed the newlyweds were attending the special service for their nephew along with other close family members and friends.

The family occasion is the first of many the Duchess of Sussex will be attending since marrying into the household.

The Duke and Duchess are likely to attend the wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank in October and Prince Charles 70th birthday celebrations in November.
