The Strathberry Bag

The tri-tone leather tote is from Edinburgh-based brand Strathberry – but only available from Sak’s in NYC. The store sent Markle the bag a few weeks ago. According to The Telegraph, the bag sold out within minutes of Markle wearing it. [Photo: Getty]

The Mackage coat

The double-breasted military maxi coat by American outerwear label Mackage is an old favourite of Markles. She’s been photographed wearing it on a number of occasions, while arriving in and leaving Heathrow. [Photo: Getty]

The Line The Label coat

The crisp, white tie-waist coat that Markle wore during her engagement photos was a nod to her time spent in Toronto while working on ‘Suits’. The knee-length design was from Canadian label Line The Label. [Photo: Getty]

Those within the fashion sphere might be familiar with US designer Misha Nonoo, but the rest of the world probably didn’t recognise her name when Markle picked out a shirt from the brand to wear to September’s Invictus Games. [Photo: Getty]

The tri-tone leather tote bag that Meghan Markle wore in Nottingham today, 1 December, has sold out in minutes proving that the newest addition to the royal family is most certainly something of a style icon.

Markle appeared with the bag, by Edinburgh-based brand Strathberry, during her first public outing with Prince Harry today. The couple announced their engagement in the gardens of Kensington Palace on Monday.

This marks the second time that Markle has caused something’s she worn to sell out. The green dress, by Italian label Parosh, that she donned during her BBC interview on Monday evening proved to be a huge hit with viewers. The brand itself even renamed the dress in her honour.

So far, the 36-year-old has steered clear of big-name brands, preferring to rep smaller labels. From Line the Label to Mackage, we give you the brands that the actress is shining a light on.
