Barney Walsh's life off-screen as he stars in Casualty and hosts Gladiators with dad Bradley
In the realm of television, Bradley Walsh is a household name, celebrated for his hosting prowess on hit shows like The Chase and the BBC's reboot of Blankety Blank. Now, as his son Barney Walsh steps boldly into the spotlight, he's proving to be a star in his own right, carving out a path to success that's distinctly his own.
Barney, the only child of Bradley and his wife Donna Derby, has emerged as a formidable talent as the new host for the rebooted show Gladiator alongside his famous father. Having trained in performing arts at the esteemed Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, Barney's journey to stardom began with humble beginnings, landing minor television roles in acclaimed series like Doctors, Death in Paradise and Law and Order: UK.
He is also recognisable for his latest role as Cameron Mickelthwaite in the BBC drama Casualty. In spring 2023, Barney joined the cast as accident-prone nurse Cameron, a new edition who struggled adapting to the fast-paced emergency department.

Beyond the small screen, Barney has had a number of appearances on the silver screen, starring in feature films like King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.
While Gladiators marks Barney's first hosting gig alongside his father, he is no stranger to the presenting realm. With ample experience under his belt, the budding actor has been serving as an ambassador and presenter for the prestigious Miss World pageant since October 2017.
While Barney keeps his personal life relatively private, his romance with Miss World 2016 Stephanie Del Valle Diaz has garnered attention from fans and media alike. Allegedly meeting at a Miss World competition in 2017, the couple's relationship blossomed, marked by rare public appearances and shared moments captured on social media.
In 2019 the duo made a rare public appearance when they attended the BAFTA TV Awards together and walked the red carpet alongside Barney’s doting parents Bradley and Donna Derby.
Meanwhile, in 2022 the model shared a wholesome snap of herself and Barney as they posed in front of a stunning sunset in Portugal.
Captioning the snap, she wrote: “Happy Three Kings Day with a beautiful sunset in Portugal or as we say in Spanish, ‘Happy Tricking Day’”.
“The couple started out as mates,” a source told The Sun in 2022. “They get on really well and know they’re both young in their careers so give each other space to pursue their dreams.”
On Instagram, Stephanie has 86,400 followers where she keeps social media users up to date with her travels and work as a model.
In 2016, she became the second Puerto Rican Miss World but away from her work in fashion and in beauty pageants she studied Law and Communication at Pace University in New York.
