Have you ever wondered what a mix of Elvis Presley rock ‘n roll glitz, Las Vegas luck and Princess Diana’s feminine style would look like? See Alix of Bohemia’s ultra-fun resort 2025 collection.
Inside designer Alix Verley Pietrafesa’s Brooklyn atelier, images of good luck talismans, “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” and “Casino” movie stills, up-close shots of The King’s studded boots and metallic fashions and photographs of the late Princess Diana filled her latest mood board.

“I watched ‘Casino’ [Martin Scorsese’s 1995 film] and was so struck and enamored by Sharon Stone’s wardrobe and what a powerful character she was. It’s set in the ’70s and I loved the idea that it’s actually pretty bad taste. I think good taste always needs a little bit of bad taste; that’s what my grandmother always used to say and it’s always stayed with me,” she said.
For more than 10 years, the New York-based designer has been creating vintage-inspired, often ‘70s-tinged garments with a playful bohemian sensibility rooted in hand-done processes with global artisans.
She honed her craft over time. Prior to launching her ready-to-wear label in 2018, the self-taught Pietrafesa made more than 2,500 bespoke one-of-a-kind pieces, which gained traction — and fans — from 2014 onward via word of mouth. Today, Alix of Bohemia is available in more than 130 stores.
Twenty-four collections later, her resort 2025 lineup continues to exude that bespoke approach with ample holiday-minded high-shine and retro nods.
Highlights included a hand-smocked, scarf-weight ivory dress (styled with a baseball cap), “for a Vegas quickie,” she said; a Princess Diana-meets-Elvis sweet ivory lace top with stellar silver metallic cotton denim pants; a Western “Royal Flush” jacket with hand-embroidered good luck talismans, and groovy virgin wool and silk blend animal patterned power suits and coats, to name a few.
The collection was a delight for the eyes, with ample mix-and-match “good with bad taste,” hand block-printed and screen-printed lightweight blouses; sweet ‘70s dresses and camp shirts; hand-embellished metal sequin crop tops and dresses; hand-embroidered novelty jackets; funky, flared trousers and a good amount of more feminine, pretty lace layers in that famous baby blue hue.
