George and Amal Clooney enjoy romantic dinner in St Tropez – after he is dragged into nepo-baby debate
George Clooney and his wife Amal were spotted enjoying a romantic dinner date in St Tropez, amidst the ongoing nepo-baby debate sparked by Emma Roberts.
The couple looked relaxed and content as they strolled hand-in-hand to the renowned Jardin Tropezina restaurant, taking in the stunning scenery of their luxury holiday destination.
Amal was the epitome of elegance in a floral pink minidress with a tiered hemline that accentuated her slender waist. She paired the dress with nude heels, brown aviator sunglasses and a chic white handbag.
George, who has allegedly ended his relationship with Harry and Meghan, kept it casual yet stylish in a white polo top with the buttons undone, grey suit trousers and a beige blazer. He accessorised with brown sunglasses and had his phone in hand.
The pair were seen savouring some delicious food and sipping on an exquisite bottle of wine at the restaurant, which is helmed by Michelin-starred Chef Jean-Francois Piege. The menu boasts Mediterranean dishes made with fresh local ingredients.
George and Amal's holiday comes hot on the heels of George being pulled into the nepo-babies debate by Emma Roberts, who criticised the term as "sexist". On Tuesday's episode of iHeartPodcast's Table for Two podcast, Emma argued that nepo-babies can face challenges just like anyone else.
"That's the thing that I always talk about people kind of only see your wins because they only see when you're on the poster of a movie. They don't see all the rejection along the way," the American Horror Story star shared.
"That's why I'm always very open about things I've auditioned for and haven't gotten the part for," Emma confessed. "I think it's important to talk about otherwise people just think everything's been so great and linear and easy, and no, it's not at all. But of course it looks like that to the outside perspective or to the naked eye."
She then highlighted how men and women are often perceived differently in the nepo-baby debate, humorously suggesting that George should be included since his aunt is the late actor and singer Rosemary Clooney. Emma quipped: "I'm just kidding, but I feel like young girls get it harder with the nepo-baby thing.
"I don't really see people calling out sons of famous actors not that they should be called out. I don't think anyone should be called out for wanting to follow their dream."
