Alex Jones is taking a well-deserved break from The One Show, and she's made sure to express her gratitude to her fans for their unwavering support.

Alex, 47, regularly hosts the BBC show alongside Roman Kemp and Jermaine Jenas but she's heading off on a break with her family. The mum-of-three took to Instagram to share the news with her 353,000 followers, posting a stunning mirror selfie.

She captioned it: "The face of a woman who is off on holiday....... Thank you for watching this week and especially for all the lovely comments about last night's One Big Thank you." Alex continued, praising her team for their exceptional work in uncovering heartfelt stories: "The team is the best at finding the great stories. It was an emotional one. Fans also chimed in to compliment Alex's unique style, with one user remarking: "Not many could pull that off but classy as always, have a great holiday!" reports the Mirror.

Earlier in the year, Alex shared a tender moment online as she opened up about how quickly her son is growing up. The doting mum, who has three children Teddy, seven, Kit, four, and a two year old daughter with her husband Charlie Thomson, celebrated their eldest's birthday with a delightful party and kept her followers in the loop with updates on her social media.

Alex shared a snap of balloons in their family home, with a standout silver number seven floating alongside a football-themed balloon. Opening up about her child's growth, she wrote on the image: "The years are flying by."

She later spoke to her followers about seeing her children grow up. Alex said: "Hello. Happy Monday. I've come out for a little walk." Settling down in the sun and shielded by oversized sunglasses, she added: "I'm just sitting here enjoying the view. But I feel really reflective and I think it's because Ted turns seven today and we had a party with all his class yesterday and it was brilliant but it was chaotic. You don't really absorb anything."

Inhaling deeply, Alex continued: "I've just sat here looking at the clouds go past thinking, wow. They tell you to absorb it and hold on. Their childhood goes in a flash but of course you do. You hold on so tight and still there's nothing you can do about it to slow time down. This is very reflective, and very deep for me. I just thought lots of other parents would probably say the same."
