Ex-S Club 7 star Hannah Spearritt is one step closer to being pushed to her limits on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. The singer, who was voted off in the second week of Dancing On Ice earlier this year, is gearing up to face a fresh set of challenges in the brutal Channel 4 series.

An insider spilled all to The Sun's Bizarre TV column: "Hannah is a great signing for the show. She's got a huge fan base who will want to see her take on some of the biggest challenges on telly. She jumped at the chance to show what she's made of."

Adding to the buzz around the show, it looks like former footballer Troy Deeney could also be getting his kit ready, following in Wayne Bridge, John Fashanu and Jermaine Pennant's footsteps. Another source told The Sun that the competitive nature of soccer stars fits perfectly with the challenging vibe of the show.

"Footballers' competitive streak seems to lend itself to taking part. Troy is likely to discuss some of the most upsetting elements of his life in the interrogation room with the instructors. Often the celebrities taking part reveal deep-rooted problems that only manifest themselves fully when they're pushed to the limit in the competition."

OK! has reached out to Channel 4 for comment. Other celebs who have braved the challenge have admitted that the series is anything but easy.

Danielle Lloyd has shared a cheeky anecdote about her time on the show with one of its hosts, Jason 'Foxy' Fox. The former beauty queen, who is mum to five children, Archie, 13, Harry, 12, George, 10, Ronnie, 6, and Autumn, 22 months, confessed she'd rather go through childbirth again than repeat a tough challenge.

Speaking to Yahoo! News, the 39 year old, who appeared on the same series as 'Pop Idol' winner Gareth Gates, recounted: "I actually said to Foxy when we were doing that wire one where we had to drop. I was like, 'I would rather give birth five more times than do this.' And he was like, 'Oh you're f****** crazy then!"

Gareth Gates, meanwhile, has spoken out about how he needed therapy after he won the series in 2023, beating celebrities including James Argent, footballer Jermaine Pennant and MP Matt Hancock. He spoke to OK! about the experience in November 2023 and confessed he needed six weeks of therapy after the show because the interrogation challenges of the series brought back memories of childhood bullying.

“I needed to go to therapy afterwards because they tapped into it again,” he says. “I’ve hidden the trauma for so long and not talked about it. I’ve never let people see those scars, ever. On Pop Idol, I spoke about my speech, but I never told people the true extent of it. It’s a very personal thing, and so to do it in such a public way, I had to make a decision in my head to do that.”
