We’ve all suffered a beauty mishap or two while trying to learn the fine art of contouring with nothing but a YouTube tutorial and makeshift make-up bag to aid us.

So we couldn’t help but relate to one girl who suffered a hilarious beauty faux-pas after applying Huda Beauty’s now-famous Easy Bake Loose Powder.

Last weekend, Amanda Whitrock applied the cult product before playing laser tag with friends at a local spot in Missouri.

But while the 22-year-old’s make-up looked seriously on point ahead of the game, her friends soon noticed that Whitrock’s face changed to the colour purple under the lights.

Amused by the incident, Whitrock posted now-viral photographs from the evening to Facebook alongside the caption: “Don’t use the Huda baking powder if you plan on doing laser tag”.

The post soon garnered over 18,000 shares with social media users comparing her to Violet from ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’.

According to Allure, the purple effect may have been caused by the ingredient fluorine which boasts fluorescent properties that are only visible under dark light.

Despite the alarming sound of this, the substance was declared safe in a study that was published in the US National Library of Medicine.

From smudged eyeliner to the inability to highlight, we suddenly feel a whole lot better about our own make-up mishaps.
