Wedding season is upon us and while it’s supposed to be a joyous time spent celebrating our loved ones getting hitched, there’s a hidden worry behind it all.
According to a recent survey conducted by My Voucher Codes, the average cost of a UK stag do or hen party now weighs in at an estimated £204.82 - a sum sure to dampen the mood.
Findings indicated that clothing and accessories prove the biggest splurge with attendees forking out at least £36.37.
That’s sure to include the likes of fancy dress attire and a suitcase-full of holiday options with an increasing number of pre-wedding celebrations now taking place abroad.

Activities which, let’s be honest, you may not even wish to participate in totals up to around £45.41 while accommodation could cost at least £27.82.
Gifts for the bride or groom can’t be forgotten either, adding another £35.47 to the bill.

Though the figures aren’t entirely surprising, as a recent study conducted by American Express found that the average cost for British guests to attend the big day comes in at £391 each.
That’s a nationwide price of £5.5 billion, a startling increase of £88 in comparison to last year.
