Top royal 'to appear in Bridgerton' after begging producers for a role

When one member of the Royal family appeared on Good Morning Britain with her new saucy book - she made it clear she wants to appear on Bridgerton. Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, was invited onto GMB to promote her new book ‘A Woman of Intrigue’ and described her new book as a well-known Netflix series.

Sarah said: “The great thing about this [the book] is it’s Bridgerton. I want to go on Bridgerton, Susanna, let’s go on Bridgerton!” Susanna responded: “Well you’re more likely to get on Bridgerton now you’ve said that.”

Sarah couldn't hide her excitement and added: “I think Lady Penelope should have a friend who’s got red hair like me - I’m putting it out there.”

During the interview, Susanna hinted there were ‘naughty’ elements to Sarah's book - which makes it more like Bridgerton. The synopsis reads: Wallflower Lady Mary Montagu Douglas Scott has a secret. Moving effortlessly unnoticed amongst the ballrooms and palaces of Queen Victoria, her sharp intelligence and keen powers of observation allow her to quietly solve society crimes – coming to the rescue of those whose pride and fortune are at stake.

Overlooked and underestimated, Mary finds missing money, recovers stolen jewellery and saves reputations. When she meets Colonel Walter Trefusis, an unlikely and spirited alliance is formed. But Mary has more than met her match in her sleuthing partner. As she battles the expectations of society and her family, Mary must follow her heart – whatever the cost…

It wasn’t the first time Bridgerton was mentioned on Wednesday 5 June, as Richard Arnold made a blunder whilst talking about the show. Whilst promoting the show, Richard chatted about the trailer for Bridgerton season three part two - which teases the continuing love story between Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington.

As the clip came to an end, Richard continued to say, “and just to wet your Ladydown Whistle'' - rather than Penelope’s real pen name, Lady Whistledown. As Richard corrected himself, Susanna Reid couldn’t help but laugh hysterically. Richard added: “Well that’s out there forever!” before joking, “I’ll leave now.” Meanwhile co-presenters Susanna and Martin Lewis continued to giggle off-screen.

Bridgerton viewers went wild as the trailer for part two of the current season was released on Monday 3 June. The next four episodes of Bridgerton will drop on Thursday 13 June - and it’s full of drama as the love story between Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton continues.
