Strictly's Janette Manrara issues stark health warning to fans as she undergoes 'treatment'
Janette Manrara, 40, the beloved star of BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, has alarmed fans with news that she is undergoing a skin 'treatment'.
The vivacious dancer, who welcomed her daughter Lyra into the world last summer, revealed to her followers that she is in the midst of her second microneedling session aimed at refreshing her sun-touched skin.
The stunning professional let fans in on her beauty regimen and said:"Had my second session of micro-needling today w/ @theaestheticsdoctor. We've been working together to help with my pigmentation from years of not being careful in the sun in Miami! (Side note: WEAR SUNSCREEN! )".
The microneedling session wasn't alone time for the new mum - baby Lyra was along for the ride too!
In Janette's own words, she said: "I didn't have anyone to look after Lyra so she came along. Luckily she behaved so, so well. Such a proud mummy! We went a little deeper this time w/ the needles, but it was not too painful at all. Now we wait for the skin to naturally rejuvenate over the next few days."
The darling dance pro shared more about her philosophy towards self-care, confessing, "I love #DrAhmed because he understands that I want to work on my skin, but as naturally as possible. I'm not afraid of aging, but if I can give myself a little boost and help, why not? ".
Fans were quick to reassure and support Janette, with one declaring, "You are beautiful. Don't do crazy things to your skin when you are perfect already!”.
Meanwhile, a fellow devotee of microneedling weighed in with their endorsement, they wrote: "I swear by micro needling. Love it."
Another fan threw some admiration her way, writing, "Your skin is amazing. The sun has done it good. I'm 56 and I never wear suncream and my skin is good too,".
Earlier this week, Janette confessed to her struggles with getting up for work on BBC's Morning Live due to her daughter's sleepless nights.
In an emotional Instagram Stories post, the Strictly Come Dancing professional turned It Takes Two presenter shared her concerns about her little one's disrupted sleep patterns, looking visibly upset.
She said: "The eight month sleep regression has been a very real thing for the last couple of days.
"Luckily the team at Morning Live are amazing and they always have a delicious coffee there. "If I start falling asleep on the pink chair [though], you know why!”
Janette and her husband Aljaz Skorjanec became parents for the first time last summer. After considering IVF treatment, Janette was surprised to find out she had fallen pregnant naturally.
The couple are thoroughly enjoying their new roles as parents, but they've expressed their desire to expand their family further this year if possible.
Janette revealed: "We obviously want more children, but after the process we went through to have Lyra, you quickly learn there are never any guarantees in life.”
