Sabrina Elba is a goddess in a nude figure-hugging gown
After an endless stream of *stunning* red carpet looks courtesy of awards szn (we're talking Emmys, Golden Globes, Brits, BAFTAs and of course, the Oscars), we would have been totally fine with all of Hollywood taking it easy on the fashion front for a little while. Okay, that's a lie, we live for a jaw-dropping 'fit. Especailly when it comes from one of our fave celebs.
Luckily, we have not been disappointed. Sydney Sweeney has been delivering some of her best looks ever on the press tour for her latest film, horror flick Immaculate, while FKA Twigs' signature quirky aesthetic has been displayed in full force with a British Vogue cover, and Kristen Stewart is currently in the middle of a risqué style streak that has us eager to see what she'll wear next.
But when it comes to jaw-dropping 'fits, no one does it quite like Sabrina Elba.
Whether she's repping naked dressing in a graphic print dress or the corsage trend in a 3D floral sequinned gown, Sabrina's ensembles always create a moment. Which is exactly what she did when she attended the 55th NAACP Image Awards over the weekend [Saturday 16 March] arriving on the red carpet in a nude figure-hugging number.
The dress in question was a vintage Versace design from the Italian fashion house's autumn winter 2001 collection. With a plunging cowl neckline, leather panels at the shoulders and wait and a central buckle, it was giving major goddess vibes.
It was just as gorgeous from behind, with a plunging back, further buckle detailing and multiple cut-outs. Forget goddess, maybe it's more Dune cast member with its muted colour palette and utilitarian touches.
The Canadian model accompanied her husband, Idris Elba, (who looked suave in a purple Gucci suit) to the ceremony. The actor was nominated in the category of Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series for his Apple TV+ series Hijack, with the couple also taking to the stage during the evening to present the Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture award – won by Fantasia Barrino for The Color Purple.
Sure, there was no official award for best dressed, but we'd give Sabrina an award if we could.
