The Palace has just dropped a major health update on King Charles, and it's no coincidence that the news broke at 6pm sharp.

The timing was meticulously planned to align with the BBC News at Six, giving the press, including OK! who were briefed with a 6pm embargo, ample time to prep their coverage. Historically, royal announcements have been carefully timed to sync up with news cycles and print deadlines, and today was no exception.

After undergoing successful surgery for an enlarged prostate back in February, King Charles has been out of the public eye. But now, Buckingham Palace has confirmed he's bouncing back and will be resuming his royal duties, starting with a visit to a cancer treatment centre with Queen Camilla by his side.

The official statement from the palace declared: "His Majesty The King will shortly return to public-facing duties after a period of treatment and recuperation following his recent cancer diagnosis.

"To help mark this milestone, the King and Queen will make a joint visit to a cancer treatment centre next Tuesday, where they will meet medical specialists and patients. This visit will be the first in a number of external engagements His Majesty will undertake in the weeks ahead," reports the Express.

"In addition, The King and Queen will host Their Majesties The Emperor and Empress of Japan for a state visit in June, at the request of HM Government."

The statement adds: "As the first anniversary of the Coronation approaches, Their Majesties remain deeply grateful for the many kindnesses and good wishes they have received from around the world throughout the joys and challenges of the past year."

The announcement comes just days after Prince William made his first public appearance since his wife Princess Kate was diagnosed with cancer last month.

As Buckingham Palace shared the latest update from His Majesty, they also revealed a never-before photo of the King and Queen. The pair are shown smiling broadly and walking arm-in-arm along a path.

The pair appear more in love than ever as Charles has matched his tie to the colour of Camilla's dress and is seen gazing lovingly at his wife. Camilla has been a constant pillar of support for the King throughout his treatment.
