Ricky Hatton is looking forward to a bright future with his girlfriend Claire Sweeney, hoping their relationship will continue to grow stronger.

The boxing legend and the Coronation Street star made their romance public earlier this year, after meeting on the 2024 series of Dancing on Ice. "I had a good laugh on the ice," Ricky shared with the Mirror on Thursday night.

"I mean, after the first day, I was scared to death but I always love a challenge."

"I got knocked out in the first round, but I was able to meet Claire."

Ricky was accompanied by his soap star love at the star-studded Sedulo Foundation Colour Ball gala. "I was always a Billy no mates at these things before Claire," Ricky joked ahead of the event.

"No, it's great! Me and Claire have been together about five months now and long may it continue."

Boxing superstar Ricky and Claire made their unexpected relationship public in April this year as they appeared loved-up on a date night out. The couple were seen leaving a pub in Ricky's beloved Manchester, with Claire wearing a classic LBD as she headed out with her new boxer boyfriend.

A source previously told the Mirror: "The chemistry was electric. Ricky went out of the show early on but he contacted her afterwards and let's say he started wooing her. They've been out on several dates. Saturday was just one in a long line of them. They've been seeing each other quite a bit. He is completely besotted."

Ricky was spotted at the star-studded Colour Ball in Manchester's Hilton Deansgate, rubbing shoulders with Coronation Street celebs and Coleen Rooney. The glitzy event, hosted by Sally Lindsay, featured performances from big names like Emeli Sande, Dane Bowers, and Damage, along with Ben Ofeudu, Angie Brown, and DJ Andres Martinez.

The annual bash, organised by financial advisory firm Sedulo, raised an impressive £125,000 in 2023. With branches in Manchester, Liverpool, London, Leeds and Birmingham, the Sedulo Foundation aims to support disadvantaged young people in the North West.

Claire and Ricky recently spent a weekend away in Majorca together, as she posted a smiley snap of the two on Instagram with the caption: "Lovely weekend in Majorca with @rickyhitmanhatton x".
