Real reason Prince Harry is unlikely to bring Archie and Lilibet to the UK amid Meghan 'snub'

Prince Harry is set to return to the UK solo next week as it's been confirmed that Meghan Markle won't be accompanying her husband for his visit.

The Duke of Sussex will be in London to attend a special event celebrating the Invictus Games, but Meghan and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, will remain in the US. And now, royal commentator Hannah Furness has suggested the real reason why Meghan won't be travelling - and it may be due to concerns over security, reports the Mirror.

Harry has been embroiled in a legal dispute with the Home Office regarding the withdrawal of his UK police protection, arguing in court that his family cannot "feel at home" in Britain without adequate safety measures.

On an episode of A Right Royal Podcast, Hannah remarked: "There is quite a heavy narrative that Meghan and the children won't be coming back until they can resolve this security issue to their liking. But [Harry] will certainly be coming and going."

In recent developments, Harry initiated legal proceedings against the February 2020 decision by the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec), which determined that he should have a reduced level of taxpayer-funded security while in the UK. This decision was based on the change in Harry's "status" after he stepped back from being an active member of the Royal Family, as informed to the court.

Retired High Court judge, Sir Peter Lane, delivered another setback when he dismissed Prince Harry's appeal. Earlier this month, a spokesperson for the judiciary communicated that Harry's initial appeal had not been successful.

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, has confirmed she will not return to the UK next week after much anticipation. This was affirmed by Royal correspondent Chris Ship on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Monday.

He said: "Additional confirmation this morning that Meghan will not be joining Harry for the Invictus Anniversary service at @StPaulsLondon in London. But the Duchess of Sussex will join the Duke for an Invictus-inspired visit to Nigeria immediately after Harry leaves the UK."

Following Harry's visit to London, the Sussexes will journey to Nigeria. Their itinerary includes participating in traditional events and engaging with service members and their loved ones.
