Pete Wicks on TOWIE return: 'I enjoyed it - but I'm done with that chapter'

Pete Wicks first stormed our screens in 2015, as a regular cast member of The Only Way Is Essex. During his seven-year reign as the show's 'bad boy', the tattoo-loving 36 year old was embroiled in many a drama.

With a turbulent love life, filled with intense confrontations and dramatic showdowns - including that infamous argument with his ex-girlfriend Megan McKenna - heartthrob Pete was notorious for breaking a few hearts.

But now, in an exclusive chat with OK!, the TV star has revealed his TOWIE days are most definitely behind him. Asked if he'd ever consider joining again, he explained: "TOWIE is always a great show, and I owe a lot and I really enjoyed it when I did it. But yeah, I'm done with the whole TOWIE chapter now."

After nearly a decade on ITVBe screens, Pete sensationally bowed out of the hit reality show in 2021 - later disclosing some juicy details and hinting about his departure on his successful podcast Staying Relevant, which he co-hosts with BFF, former Made In Chelsea star, Sam Thompson.

Pete was chatting to Sam about a speech he had given at London's Houses of Parliament - and couldn't help but get in a subtle dig about his old job.

"Interesting day. Interesting people. It was a lot like TOWIE actually because that's another place full of f**king snakes and sh*t storylines," he said on the podcast.

Since his time on the show, Pete has gone on to appear on Celebs Go Dating where he met best pal Sam, Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls and Celebrity MasterChef.

But during our exclusive chat about his life now, Pete revealed that he has changed a lot over the last decade. He confessed: "I'm not the same person I was 10 years ago, and I won’t be the same person in 10 years’ time. So we all change and adapt. I think it's really important to stay humble, and I know how blessed and lucky I am."
