This Morning's Alison Hammond breaks silence on engagement rumours after showing off huge diamond ring
This Morning's Alison Hammond got viewers talking today when she fronted This Morning with what looked like a sparkling diamond on her wedding ring finger.
The 49-year-old presenter wore the unmissable piece of jewellery as she fronted Friday's show alongside Dermot O'Leary weeks after going public with her toyboy lover.
However, when news of her 'engagement' reached the studio, where she was broadcasting live, the star screamed insisting: "It's just a cheap ring." She said she'd just moved it over to her left hand - which is the one you wear engagement rings on.
The drama came after Alison went public with her masseur boyfriend David, who she has been dating for a number of months. It is thought he first encountered This Morning and For The Love Of Dogs star Alison during a £150 massage last year.
There was a brief reference to her relationship on today's This Morning when she spoke about how meeting her new neighbours made her feel good not to be "lonely". Co-host Dermot O'Leary replied: "You're hardly lonely."
According to The Sun, Alison would regularly book massages with David in between her busy filming schedule. Having formed a friendship, romance blossomed and the pair reportedly started dating towards the end of last year.
She recently spoke about the relationship on Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe's Parenting Hell podcast, saying: "No… I’m not single.. I’m dating. I’m dating!”
Alison added, speaking about her 19-year-old Aiden: "The person who I am seeing at the moment, he is on his Instagram and he is like ‘Yeah I like him, he’s not too in your face’. Aiden is on it."
