Pete Wicks takes swipe at Love Island's Curtis and AJ Pritchard as he makes acting debut

Pete Wicks has taken a swipe at brothers Curtis and AJ Pritchard and their acting abilities after they appeared in Hollyoaks, taking on the roles of dancers Marco and Jacob.

However, Curtis, 28, and AJ, 29, failed to impress critics with their acting abilities and their appearances in the Channel 4 soap quickly became the subject of memes on social media. They appeared in nine episodes in total.

Pete, 36, joked he was concerned his own acting debut in a new Sky Mobile campaign would go the same away as AJ and Curtis' disastrous attempt.

The ex-TOWIE favourite opened up about the new campaign in an interview. "I had such a good day and it was all made better by Bertie," Pete told the Mirror.

"David, the guy that played Bertie, was amazing - a proper actor. He was trying to give me a few tips, cos I was a bit worried it was gonna be like the two brothers from Love Island on Hollyoaks."

Despite Pete's acting debut being better received that the Pritchard brothers', the reality TV star has no intention to continue acting or change careers. When quizzed about the potential of more acting roles, he stated: "Absolutely not."

Pete appears in Sky Mobile's campaign as a 'relationship consultant'. He jokingly advises people on how to break-up with their other half in a Saltburn-inspired shoot.

When asked if the shoot was fun to do, Pete told OK!: "Yes!. Bertie the butler made the day for me. He’s called David and all he ever does is play butlers so he was perfect. We got to smash some stuff up too, which I always enjoy. The leg waxing was a struggle, because that wasn't fake - we genuinely waxed my legs."

He also opened up about his love life and how he feels about currently being single. The 36 year old told us: "I'm quite easy-going about it. I mean, everything you do in life is better when you share it with someone you love.

"And I would love to find the right person and get married and do all that sort of stuff, but if it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen. I'm quite happy on my own. So I'm not craving or desperate for it."

He also admitted he wouldn't date someone just to not be alone. Pete added: "There's not much point in that. I don't understand people that are in three-month- relationships all the time.

"They fall in love every week. It doesn’t work out that way and you’re wasting time. just doesn't work out. It just doesn't work out that way. And I think you're wasting a lot of time. So unless there's a future in it, I cut it short pretty sharpish."
