Love Island's Gemma Owen turns 21 as football icon dad Michael shares sweet tribute
Love Island star Gemma Owen has just turned 21, and her famous dad – football icon Michael Owen – has taken to social media to wish his daughter a happy birthday.
The 44 year old, who played for England, as well as being a striker for Liverpool, Real Madrid, Newcastle United, and Manchester United, shared a sweet photo to his Instagram, where he boasts 489K followers.
In the snap, Gemma, Michael and his wife, Louise look to be living their best life as they all smiled for the camera. Michael captioned the selfie, which appeared to be a holiday snap: "Extremely proud of you @gemowen_1 Happy 21st Birthday."
Plenty of Michael's fans then took to the comments section to gush over the image, and to wish Gemma a happy milestone birthday themselves.

By the looks of Gemma's social media – where she's garnered a whopping 1.8 million followers, mainly thanks to her 2022 stint on Love Island – the newly 21 year old is celebrating her birthday in Qatar.
Just yesterday, she took to her grid to share a series of snaps from her business class flight, which she described as "in flight luxury at its finest!"
From enjoying a glass of bubbly with her pal to tucking into a delicious looking pasta dish, Gemma also pampered herself with a complimentary self care kit before embarking on her 21st trip – which also looks incredibly luxe.
Over the last few hours, Gemma has shared a series of stories to her Instagram documenting her birthday. The Love Islander posted a sweet photo of her holding a slice of birthday cake, accompanied by a gold plaque that read: "Happy Birthday Gemma."
The influencer looked positively glowing as she beamed for the pic dressed in a long sleeved black maxi dress, complete with a stunning nighttime view of the water and city behind.
