'My heart breaks' Ashley Cain's prayer for tragic daughter as he shares precious moment with son
Ashley Cain has paid a heartbreaking tribute to his late daughter Azaylia in a new social media post. The reality TV star posted an adorable clip of him reuniting with his baby son Aliyas after another day of completing his latest charity challenge.
Ashley, 33, is currently taking part in a challenge called Ultraman to raise money for his charity, The Azaylia Foundation, which aims to support children fighting cancer. The challenge involves Ashley running 898 miles from Lands End to John O' Groats, cycling 925 miles back to Lands End them heading out on a 955 mile kayak back to John O' Groats.
After completing day 13 of his Ultraman challenge, Ashley was reunited with his baby son Aliyas, who was born earlier this year. He shared a clip of the special moment as well as several Stories of him and his son playing together.
"The best surprise I could've hoped for at yesterdays finish line - Aliyas, I love you my boy, so so much," the proud dad penned. He went on to pay tribute to Azaylia, who passed away in 2021 following a battle with cancer.
"My heart breaks that you can't be with us Azaylia, but I pray everyday that you can still see us. You will forever be present in our minds, our memories and our hearts.. Empowering us everyday through love, through strength, through courage and through the brightest of lights that you still shine through the darkest of times," he wrote.
Ashley concluded his post by sharing his progress so far. He added: "298.9 miles/481 kilometres ran so far, £22,763 funds raised, 2,481 miles/3,992 kilometres to go - Cementing a legacy with every step, pedal, and paddle."
Ashley welcomed Azaylia with girlfriend Safiyya Vorajee in 2020, but the newborn was tragically diagnosed with leukaemia at just eight weeks old, and she later died at eight months, in April 2021. Her parents documented the battle on social media and have since been candid about dealing with grief.
In 2022, just weeks before the one-year anniversary of Azaylia's death, Safiyya and Ashley, who were together for five years, announced their split publicly. And this year, on Thursday, 18 January, Ashley announced that he'd welcomed a son into the world, named Aliyas Diamond Cain.
While he shared that he had the little one with a 'friend of over 18 years', no more details of the mother were given, and Ashley is not thought to be in a relationship with her.
