Watch Gigi Hadid strong-arm crasher off Chanel catwalk

Gigi Hadid stepped in to confront a prankster who made an unprecedented appearance on the fashion week catwalk.

The supermodel was walking for Chanel at Paris Fashion Week when a spectator broke away from the audience to join the model line-up.

Wearing a tweed suit and boater hat in the style of Chanel’s namesake, Coco Chanel, the woman can be seen stepping up on to the elevated catwalk and proceeding to walk among the models. The crasher has since been identified as Marie Benoliel, popularly known as Marie S’Infiltre, a French YouTube star with 227,000 subscribers.

In footage shared by fashion journalist Booth Moore, the models proceed as normal around the catwalk despite the disruption, but what happens next?

Further footage by the Dazed Fashion Instagram account shows security guards running to intervene and remove the unwelcome guest, but Hadid gets there first.

The supermodel stands in front of S’Infiltre to block her path before taking her arm and escorting her off the raised catwalk.

Models then crowds around the YouTuber as Hadid walks her off the stage.

Bruno Pavlovsky, Chanel’s fashion president, was seen laughing when it happened, according to Evening Standard.

The episode has received a similarly jovial reception on social media, with Twitter users seeing the funny side and hashtagging “life goals”.

This isn’t the first time S’Infilitre has crashed a show: she made her way on to the Etam catwalk last week, according to her Instagram.

Meanwhile, Hadid has become something of a catwalk saviour. Back in 2017, when Lauren Hutton walked the Bottega Veneta show, she enlisted the help of Hadid to walk with her for the finale – upon the advice of British stylist, Katie Grand.

“When I got back[stage], they said, ‘Get in the line, we’re about to go again.’ And I said, ‘I can’t, I can’t,’” Hutton told The Cut.

“But a very smart stylist, Katie Grand from England, said, ‘You can follow Gigi.’ She had been in the middle of the line. I said, ‘I can’t. I’ll have to hold onto Gigi,’ and that’s how it worked.”
