Fleur East enjoys casual date night with designer husband one month after welcoming baby Nova
Strictly star Fleur East enjoyed a casual date night with her designer husband and looked every inch a glowing new mum. The radio presenter posted a video and photo to her social media, showing herself dressed in a stylish green shorts-and-shirt co-ord and seemingly relishing the quality time with husband Marcel Badiane-Robin.
They welcomed their baby daughter, who they named Nova, on 22 March, and Fleur, 36, has been keeping her fans and followers updated as she adjusts to life with a little one. Shortly before sharing her date night, Fleur joked about "stripping off" to breastfeed little Nova, reposting a meme showing Usher stripping off on stage, with "when your baby starts crying, you're a nursing mom" written over it.
In her own caption, Fleur wrote: "OMG!! So accurate! This baby got me stripping off so fast!!", adding a poll asking whether her followers agreed or not. The 36-year-old It Takes Two presenter said recently that her body "doesn't feel the same" after Nova's birth, and has been open about the struggles of having a newborn.
In a recent honest Instagram post, she wrote: "The first 4 weeks of being a parent have been a whirlwind! Looking after a baby really is something! But I always have a few moments, for example when I’m up at 2am because baby girl needs a feed. Or I haven’t slept, feel shattered and can’t work out why my baby is crying when I’ve been through the entire checklist!
"I remind myself that there was a time where I wished and hoped for the very chapter I’m in right now. When I’m knee deep in nappies and drowning in milk, it’s sometimes hard to see that I am in the middle of all the moments I prayed for. When the true feeling of gratitude hits me and I see my baby girl smile, it makes every challenge worth it."
Fleur and Marcel married in a destination wedding in summer 2019, exchanging their vows in Morocco's stunning Atlas Mountains. Fleur described the clothing designer, who has worked with the likes of Rita Ora, as her "number one supporter and my biggest fan", telling OK! after their ceremony that she felt "properly united" with him.
Despite the recent lack of sleep, Fleur returned to work just three week's after Nova's birth, performing at a gig she booked while she was still pregnant. She said afterwards it had been "touch and go" whether she'd feel ready to step back on stage, but
"It felt amazing to perform with these incredible ladies who gave me good, positive vibes on stage. I was able to get out there, move my body, sing and do what I love and then get back to the little person I love with all my heart."
