Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford's 'relationship changed' after This Morning exit
Following news of their 'split', it has been reported that Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford have been living separate lives for two years.
According to The Sun, the presenting duo’s relationship changed when they left This Morning in 2021. Ruth had been presenting the show since 1999 before Eamonn joined her in 2006 - and they worked together for 15 years.
On Saturday 25 May, a spokesperson reportedly told The Sun that their 14 year long marriage has come to an end. It said: "Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.”
Now, a source has told the publication that the pair had split two years ago. They told The Sun: “Eamonn and Ruth’s relationship changed when they left This Morning. They started moving in different directions in their careers and their priorities started to change.
“Eamonn was desperate to return to Belfast, which he thinks of as home, but Ruth would never move. It became a bone of contention.
“As her ITV career continued, Eamonn went down another path and they became ships in the night. For the past two years they had led separate lives, professionally and personally.”
OK! has contacted Ruth and Eamonn’s teams for comment.
Eamonn is set to return to Good Morning Britain on Monday 27 May, however Ruth is reportedly taking a step back from Loose Women where she often anchors the show.
The day after the alleged divorce was reported, Ruth broke her silence on the matter. She took to social media pointedly ignoring the stories about her marriage as she shared a video while walking her dog Maggie.
To this she added the text: "Enjoying the little bit of sunshine we got today!" Ruth then shared a sweet clip of Maggie cuddling him to her mum Joan, writing that the pooch was getting some "Grandma love."
Amid the split rumours, Eamonn posted an image on his social media of himself and ‘close’ mate Linda Lusardi.
The renowned TV presenter posted a throwback snap on Monday 20 May alongside a current one with showbiz friend Linda.
He wrote lovingly: "1982 v 2024 and she hasn't changed a bit . My wonderful, close friend Linda Lusardi who I went to see today. 42 year friendship.”
The post quickly stirred up reactions among Eamonn's followers, with one questioning: "Where is your beautiful wife Ruth! Why or what are you trying to prove!" Another sympathetically wrote: "Poor Ruth."
