Inside Rachel Stevens' romance with Dancing on Ice co-star - and how it ended her 13 year marriage to Netflix star
S Club star Rachel Stevens is madly in love with Brendyn Hatfield, who just so happens to be her former co-star on Dancing on Ice in 2022.
That same year, Rachel, 46, announced that she was divorcing her husband of 13 years, property developer, Alex Bourne, with whom she shares two daughters, Amelie, 14, and Minnie, ten. By April 2023, reports emerged that Rachel was dating Brendyn, and in November of that year, she confirmed the rumours as she went Instagram official with her new beau.
Whilst there is nothing to suggest that anything romantic happened with Brendyn whilst they were training for Dancing on Ice, in a new interview, Rachel admitted that her marriage to Alex, who stars on new Netflix show, Buying London, ended after she realised she had fallen in love with Brendyn.
In an interview with The Sun on Sunday's Fabulous magazine, Rachel opened up about her "messy" split from husband Alex, who she married in 2009. "I knew that we were growing, that I was growing apart, but I was in turmoil, because, first of all, my kids."
She added that their marriage ended when she revealed to Alex that she had 'fallen' for Brendyn. "It was really scary, because I knew as soon as I said that, that was it."
Opening up about the split earlier this year, Rachel said that the split was "amicable" as they continued to co-parent their two children. "It's only the last two weeks that we've not been living together. That was definitely difficult. We're doing it with love and respect, but it's a process," she said.
On her new relationship with Brendyn, Rachel said: "He's a beautiful human. I really love him." On Boxing Day 2023, Rachel shared a photograph of her Christmas with new beau Brendyn and their 'blended' family. "A beautiful blended Christmas with our babas. Hope you had a gorgeous day with your loved ones xxx," she shared alongside a photo of her two daughters.
Rachel and Brendyn don't shy away from sharing their love for one another on social media, and in March, they enjoyed a sun-soaked break away together abroad, as Brendyn shared a snap to Instagram.
In the caption he wrote: "Having a much needed holiday together with my love. Felt like the last five months have been a blur and it’s been nice to finally stop for a moment and take it all in. Couldn’t have made it through all the chaos without the help of this beautiful soul.
"It’s been so nice to get some sunshine and relaxation in before hitting the ground running on whatever comes next!"
