Dean Westmoreland wife: Who is The Repair Shop expert married to?

Dean Westmoreland, the beloved cobbler from BBC One's The Repair Shop, has been a fixture on the show since 2021, charming viewers with his skilled craftsmanship.

Dean, who recently took on the task of restoring a pair of cowboy boots on The Repair Shop, has even suffered permanent physical damage to his hand due to his work. He told OK!: “I have a squared off thumb. This thumb has been caught on the machine so many times that it's now squared off."

But despite the injury, he's keen to keep going with cobbling: "I’m learning every single day and that’s what drives me to get better. There is more than a lifetime’s worth of learning in footwear. I’m hungry for it.”

Fans are curious about his life outside the barn and behind the scenes and OK! has everything you need to know.

Is The Repair Shop's Dean Westmoreland married?

Dean Westmoreland has been in a committed relationship with his partner Leigh for over ten years, reports the Express. Details about Leigh are scarce as she keeps her social media under wraps, and Dean himself is quite private about his off-screen romance.

But he did give us a glimpse into their love story when, in 2018, he shared a snapshot of his proposal to Leigh during a quaint afternoon tea. The photos showed the moment he popped the question and a sweet embrace with his then-new fiancee.

Alongside the pictures, he gushed: "She said yes!" He continued to express his gratitude, saying: "None of my achievements over the last 7 years would have been possible without this lady and her love and support. I'm a lucky man."

Rumour has it, the couple share a cosy life in Clayton, Bradford, with their two young lads, Oscar, aged six, and four year old Otis. Adding to their family fun, in 2019 they welcomed a puppy, prompting Dean to post an adorable snap of the pup, humorously captioning it: "I thought having young children and a business wasn't quite stressful enough so I gone n got a puppy." It's believed the pair have since married after he posted a throwback snap last year, captioning it: "8 weeks and I get to marry this gem of a human."

What did Dean do before The Repair Shop?

Before becoming a TV favourite on The Repair Shop, Westmoreland honed his craft as a footwear specialist at JJB Sports. His journey took him from there to an apprenticeship in shoemaking, and after a decade of perfecting his skills, he bravely opened his own business in 2017.

Yorkshire Sole, his pride and joy, sits in the heart of Shipley, West Yorkshire. On his website, Dean shares his passion for the finer details: "It's all about micro-detail to me, small things like cleaning and polishing the uppers on all repairs as standard, using brass nails in heels instead of steel, using hand tools, hand welting and treating each pair of shoes as my own."
