If you love crochet, why not make a cute crochet poppy this November? It's a lovely way to mark your respect on Remembrance Day.

Remembrance Day is on 11 November, with Remembrance Sunday this year falling on Sunday 10 November. Each year, many people across Britain wear a poppy in remembrance and as a symbol of thanks to all those who have served in the armed forces.

If you do wear a poppy, you're asked to donate to the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal – you can donate here.

Crafters across the world have been taking to social media to show off their crochet poppy projects – and the results have us seriously inspired.

There are so many beautiful crochet poppy projects to choose from, you're guaranteed to find one you love. We've picked out our favourites, including some traditional poppies to be pinned to coats for Remembrance Day, to larger projects like poppy bags and cushions. There are so many ideas to choose from!

Perfect poppy

Sometimes it's best to keep your crochet poppies simple – as demonstrated by @spinayarncrochet on Instagram.

They're a lovely quick project to make, and a great way to use up leftover yarn from other projects.

Small and sweet

A crochet poppy can be made using a small hook (2 or 3mm) to create a smaller and more intricate design. This one from @bellacococrochet on Instagram is so lovely – the little crochet leaf under the flower is the perfect finishing touch.

Cute cushion

Why not turn the poppy motif into a beautiful cushion? We fell in love with this project from @flo_and_dot on Instagram.

The 3D-style of poppies are so striking – this cushion would make a lovely addition to your bed or sofa.

Beautiful bag

And if you're feeling even more inspired, why not make a poppy-inspired bag? This one from @cornwallcrochet on Instagram is made up of crochet hexagons stitched together, with a crochet strap.

Pretty in pink

Not all poppies have to be a classic red, as demonstrated by this project from @chubby.hands on Instagram.

The use of wire around the crochet allows for a beautiful upright display – these flowers would look lovely in a vase.

Happy stitching!
