Celeb exes who reunite at Christmas just for their children - with surprising confessions
Traditionally, Christmas has always been about family, with people getting together from far and wide to enjoy a day of celebrations, good food, laughter and joy. However, in the modern world, a 'traditional' family unit no longer looks like what it used to. These days, blended families are expected, whether that be remarrying to someone who already has kids or hanging out with ex partners for the sake of your own children.
Prime examples of this include Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker, who arguably are the most famous blended family of all. Not to mention her sister Khloé, who closely co parents with her ex Tristan Thompson to give her children True, six, and Tatum, two, a happy childhood.
At the end of the day, couples who can put their differences aside - especially over the festive period - for the sole benefit of their kids can make a huge difference to their happiness. Relationship expert Tina Wilson also tells us why it can be extremely worthwhile for separated families to spend it together, sharing that "Christmas is primarily a holiday for children."

"If the couple have young children then it would benefit them greatly if both parents were there, even for a short period, to make magical memories for the future," she explains.
So, whether you're in this exact situation or you know someone who is, let's take a look at some examples of former couples who have reunited for Christmas...
Chloe Madeley and James Haskell
Chloe Madeley and her daughter Bodhi headed on a festive family trip to the VIP launch of Christmas at Kenwood in London lastt year. The 37 year old was joined by her mum and dad, Richard and Judy and her brother Jack, who brought along his son. While the family enjoyed some Christmas fun, Chloe was previously spotted having lunch with Bodhi and her ex James Haskell, who she separated from last October.
Despite a source revealing to The Sun that they won't be getting back together, they revealed they were "out for a friendly lunch while they still work out how to co-parent." The source added: "Just because they aren't together, it doesn't mean they won't stay friendly," suggesting that the estranged pair may well meet up over the festive period for the sake of little Bodhi.
Christine and Paddy McGuinness
In 2022, Paddy and Christine McGuinness reportedly reunited for Christmas despite them splitting in July of that year. The former couple share three children together, twins Leo and Penelope, 11, and Felicity, eight. A source told us in 2022 that Christine feels it's important for her kids to have stability, and that even though the couple were going through a break up, the children still needed a "routine."
"They don't want to disrupt that. Nothing will be different just because they're no longer together," the source said. Due to the fact Christine and Paddy have said that they're still "good friends," and spent Christmas together last year, we can only assume they'll do the same this year.
Helen Flanagan and Scott Sinclair
Again, back in 2022, Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan and her partner, footballer Scott Sinclair, ended their relationship after 13 years together. The ex couple share three children, Matilda, Delilah and Charlie.
Two years ago it was revealed that Helen and Scott were planning on seeing each other over the festive period to ensure that their kids didn't suffer. Plus, to provide a sense of normality for them as a family. A source said at the time: "Despite the split, Helen wants Scott in their children's lives. She's very fond of him and they get on well. She wants him to be around for Christmas so they’ll do something as a family. She wants the best for the kids."
