Coronation Street fans 'work out' Lauren Bolton's killer after resident 'slips up'

Coronation Street fans were given more clues about the mysterious disappearance of teenager Lauren Bolton during the episode on Friday 24 May.

Recently, Roy Cropper has found himself in hot water, being arrested and charged as the prime suspect for the alleged murder of missing teen Lauren. Fans will remember that troubled young Lauren suddenly left the cobbles earlier this year, leaving her friend Bobby Crawford worried when he discovered her flat unlocked and Lauren nowhere to be found.

Viewers never saw Lauren go, and it appears she didn't tell anyone close to her about her plans to leave Weatherfield, except for Roy. Bobby reported Lauren as missing to the police, and Roy has become a suspect due to his kind nature, particularly after he was spotted innocently cleaning Lauren's flat - an act which some interpreted as evidence of his guilt.

Online detectives have since made his life difficult with a flood of online abuse.

Next week, soap fans will be "hit with a bolt out of the blue" as a new piece of evidence reveals who Lauren's killer really is. Ahead of this shocking revelation, some viewers think they've already solved the mystery of Lauren's killer after a cryptic scene on Friday night, reports the Mirror.

In the latest episode, David Platt was vacuuming when he stumbled upon a bag full of blonde hair dye and makeup under Max Turner's bed. Max was irritated to find David with his belongings and became defensive before admitting they belong to Lauren, although he added "were Lauren's", insisting he wanted to keep them.

Soap aficionados will recall Lauren's dramatic entrance to Weatherfield in 2022, as she played a pivotal role in recruiting Max into Griff's nefarious far-right gang. Initially, sparks flew between Max and Lauren, but their budding romance quickly sputtered out once the gang's sinister intentions came to light.

Lauren was unwittingly caught up in the extremist activities through her father Reece, one of the group's ringleaders. After a period of trying to make amends for her involvement, Lauren vanished, while her father Reece and the malevolent Griff were sent behind bars following their recent comeback on Friday night.

Twitter has been abuzz with speculation since Friday's episode dropped a hint that left viewers scratching their heads.

One user tweeted: "I think max has taken Lauren.. why is there blonde hair dye under Max's bed? Lauren is blonde maybe dyed blonde? That could be a big clue for next week... @itvcorrie #Corrie." Another fan wondered: "So Max had a box of Lauren's hair dye and it was under his bed? Interesting #Corrie #CoronationStreet @itvcorrie", and yet another added: "Oh that's suspicious Max #Corrie."
