Britain’s Got Talent in fresh ‘fix’ row as fans claim daredevil act ‘faked’ dramatic moment
Britain's Got Talent fans have speculated an incident which occurred during an audition during Saturday's (4 May) show was 'faked', as the Serbat Troupe took to the stage with an incredible acrobatic performance.
The foursome immediately impressed the judges - Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli - with their audition, and left the audience stunned with their daring stunts on stage. However, disaster struck during one part of the routine.
One member attempted to balance with one hand on another's head as they climbed a ladder, but he suddenly lost his balance and fell onto the stage. He landed on his knees as another member attempted to catch him.
Screams echoed through the audience as the judges gasped, with hosts Ant and Dec standing in shock at the side of the stage. The troupe member struggled to catch his breath as the others consoled him.
Amanda, 52, was heard saying "end it there", but the crowd continued to cheer the Serbat Troupe on, encouraging them to resume their performance, even though Alesha, 45, said it was "silly" and "they didn't need to".
The group made a second attempt at the stunt, with the performer removing his shirt. The trick was successful, much to the audience's delight.
Many fans praised the Serbat Troupe's bravery and resilience, but others were left doubting whether the fall was really an accident. Speculation surrounding the incident is solely based on fan theories.
Taking to X, BGT viewers shared their thoughts on the scenes that had unfolded. One person said: "I think the first drop was choreographed." A second added: "Yeah, because taking off his shirt made it work better."
A third fan wrote: "It was done on purpose…. It’s the hype now look how they all of a sudden had different music," while a fourth penned: "He was wobbling the ladder on purpose so thats why he fell."
Others pointed out the team's prior experience. One person said: "In general, this is not a completely fair game; these are not amateurs among whom talented people are being sought. These are professional artists who work in the state circus of Kazakhstan."
The Serbat Troupe were sent through to the next round of auditions. Simon told them: "Honestly to do this without a net and to see how easily it can go wrong, and how skilful it was... It was a great audition I'm going to say a massive yes." Former Strictly star Bruno added: "I nearly had a heart attack! You nearly killed me!"
