A bride's final wedding dress fitting ended in a "bloody nightmare," according to a friend who was present during the harrowing ordeal.

The best friend of a bride-to-be explained in a post on Reddit's "Wedding" forum that their friend's big day is one week away, so they went with the bride to her final wedding alterations.

"Seamstress during final fitting did not use safety pins, and asked her to take a step forward — she felt the pin go straight through the side of her foot," the poster wrote. "The seamstress PULLED the pin out and it instantly started pouring out blood."

The woman getting married was wearing her white bridal shoes, which her friend claimed became "saturated in blood," leaving her "extremely upset" and with an "extremely bruised" foot. They also weren't just any bridal shoes — they were "a gift from her mother worth $400."

"It was a nightmare, we all had blood on our hands whilst she was standing in her gown," the bride's friend recalled, noting that no first aid was administered and that the gown was "very expensive."

"The company didn’t even try [to] help her," the poster continued to allege. "All they said was they can give her details for a cleaner. She’s asleep now and had been crying all night. The company tried to clean it, which they did but told her the shoe was saturated in blood underneath the sole, it eventually seeped through a few hours later."

With the wedding in just a few days, the bride "cannot take the pressure anymore." The poster claimed she is already "completely exhausted and over the planning," and doesn't want another thing to worry about so she refuses to complain to the alterations company again, despite her friend suggesting she do so.

The Redditor wrote that they are "heartbroken" for the bride because what she went through was "very serious." Besides taking her to the doctor's office tomorrow, the individual asked Reddit users what else they should do to help.

In the comments section, fellow Redditors advised the bride's friend to keep encouraging her to stand up for herself and potentially take legal action. They also said taking pictures of the injury would be necessary to strengthen their case, especially since no formal report was made at the time of the incident.

"Taking her to the doctor and offering to support is crucial," one person wrote. "This sounds like a significant injury and something the business's liability insurance should be involved with. Maybe consult an injury lawyer?"

Another Reddit user advised, "Take pictures, document everything. If it's a chain store and they refuse to make it right, complain to corporate. That's horrific and definitely should be on the store to rectify."
