Pulsio Compression Boots

A lot of compression boots claim to be portable or otherwise suitable for taking abroad with you. These pack down into a relatively small – and definitely portable – carry bag, while the boots themselves are easy to set up, with a control panel that allows you to change the pressure, mode and time of the session. When is Black Friday 2024?

Black Friday falls the day after Thanksgiving in the U.S. This year, that’s Friday 29 November. Deals usually run throughout the weekend, ending with Cyber Monday on Monday 2 December.

What is Black Friday?

The Black Friday 'tradition' originates in the U.S, when retailers would drop their prices for a day ahead of the festive season. In the 2010s, retailers around the world, including the UK, began to get involved in the action, led by American-owned retailers such as Amazon. now, it's the biggest shopping event on the calendar.

‘Black Friday’ also used to be reserved for high street stores, while ‘Cyber Monday’ was for online deals. Now though, most of the deals are centred online throughout the four-day event — and some retailers even drop their prices in the days and weeks prior.

What brands are having a Black Friday sale?

Pretty much every shopping category is fair game over Black Friday, with a host of discounted products available for runners.

When it comes to tech, look out for deals on some of the best GPS watches from the likes of Garmin and Apple. In recent years, this has included some of the cheapest prices all year on the Fenix and Forerunner models, both at Amazon and John Lewis.

Got your eye on a pair of wireless running headphones? Look out for price-cuts from Shokz, Bose, Beats, Samsung and more.

And you can often save hundreds on a top quality treadmill, too, including JTX, NordicTrack and Horizon Fitness.

If you're after some winter running kit, Nike has already kicked off its Black Friday sale, with 25% off site wide when you use the code GOBIG24

Salomon is also one to keep on your radar if you're in the market for a new hydration vest, with up to 30% off.

When do the Black Friday early sales start?

It's worth noting that while the best deals are usually reserved for the main event (29 November-2 December), we're expecting a lot of retailers to start dropping their prices in the weeks prior to Black Friday — especially if 2023 was anything to go by.

In fact, Decathlon has already lowered its prices on selected Garmin watches, compression boots and Kiprun apparel.

Argos has also kicked off its Black Friday sale early, while Amazon's Black Friday Week runs from 21 November to 2 December with new deals dropping every day.

For cut-price running shoes and apparel, take 25% off in Nike's Black Friday sale.

How to shop the Black Friday sales

Black Friday isn’t about buying everything you see — it’s about getting what you really want for a much better price. It’s worth making a list of what you’re after ahead of the event, whether that’s a certain model of Garmin or a particular pair of running shoes. That way you’re more likely to avoid going over budget.

We’d also recommend using Black Friday as an opportunity to get ahead of your Christmas shopping, with prices often lower than they are in December.
