BBC The One Show's Alex Jones says 'thank you' as she makes 'last show' announcement
BBC The One Show returned on Friday (December 20) night with hosts Alex Jones and Lauren Laverne on presenting duty for the final show of the year.
The dynamic duo were joined in the studio by singer Tom Grenan, Strictly Come Dancing judge Anton Du Beke and comedians Chris McCausland, who won the BBC dance competition earlier this month, and Lee Mack.
After discussing Chris' huge win, Strictly's special 20th anniversary show, which airs on Saturday (December 21) night, and Chris and Lee's new movie Bad Tidings, Alex and Lauren shared a message with viewers before the credits rolled for the last time in 2024.

Alex said: "We just wanted to say thank you so much to tonight's guests and thank you to all our guests and contributors who have taken part in the show this year and thanks to everybody who works so hard behind the scenes to put this show together.
"But the biggest thanks, of course, go to you at home for watching and we'll see you on January 6th next year."
During the show, The 1% Club host Lee couldn't help but make a joke about co-star Chris wearing a white outfit during one of his routines in the Strictly Come Dancing Final.
Lee, who was in the live audience to watch Chris and his partner Dianne Buswell left the Glitterball trophy on Decemebr 14, said: "I was just watching that clip again of you dressed in that white suit, which is a very brave colour for a man of your age, Chris."
Chris replied: "That white suit was for the couples choice and the first time we did that Dianne had been up all night with a virus out of both ends so it was very brave to wear white the first time around."
Lee said: "Oh the glamour. At least you're not telling everyone on national television ey." Chris brushed off his comment by joking: "This is pre-recorded isn't it?"
