We all knew Balenciaga was going to have a few surprises in store for its SS18 collection. However, apart from a few bold prints, the majority of the French label’s latest Paris Fashion Week show seemed to be rather tame.

Until the models swapped out their iconic skintight stiletto boots for another very recognisable piece of footwear – Crocs.

Looks like Balenciaga is the latest designer to try and make Crocs trendy, adding a 10cm platform to give the foam shoe a more ‘high-end’ look.

This wouldn’t be the first time we’ve seen the passé footwear on the catwalks this season. Christopher Kane bought back the rubber design for a second time during London Fashion Week SS18. However, the clog had been drastically redesigned, adorned with bold rhinestones to add a little oomph.

Balenciaga, however has fully embraced all of Crocs quirks, creating them in all of the classic Croc colours including green, pink, purple, black, grey and yellow.

Furthermore, they even come complete with cringe Croc charms, ranging from an avocado, to the Balenciaga logo and even a pug.

The shoes will be on sale exclusively through the Spanish fashion house during Spring 2018.

To Croc, or not to Croc? That is the question.
