Balenciaga is not afraid when it comes to taking footwear to new levels (quite literally).

The French label’s SS17 collection featured a plethora of 80s inspired skintight spandex boots, which came in a variety of eye-catching colours.

The design was a hit with celebs, including Kylie Jenner and Rihanna who are longtime fans of Balenciaga’s over the top thigh-high designs.

However, the brand has now taken things a step further, by merging the colour block boots with trousers, in order to create an utterly bizarre shoe-trouser hybrid.

It seems Balenciaga has created an entirely new item of clothing called, ‘cosmetic pantashoe’, which is described online as, “pants and shoes in one piece”.

Confused? So are we.

The five-inch heeled boot effortlessly merges with a stretch satin material in order to create the bizarre all-in-one, which will set you back an eye-watering £1,795. And if you thought putting on over-the-knee boots was hard, try wiggling into these.

But while we may scoff at the design, a lot of people seem to be intrigued as Net-A-Porter has surprisingly sold out of the two-in-one.

Celebrities are on board with the look, too. Salma Hayek braved the unusual item at the Met Gala earlier this year in New York City.

From pre-worn looking trainers, to Ikea copy bags, and now the ‘pantashoe’, it’s safe to say that Balenciaga continues to cause quite a stir with its avant-garde designs.
