Baby Reindeer fans heartbroken over sudden death of show star as he leaves 'partner and young kids'
Netflix's smash hit Baby Reindeer has made household names of its stars including Richard Gadd, who plays Donny, and Jessica Gunning, who stars as Martha.
The seven-part drama tells a fictionalised account of Richard's own years-long stalking nightmare, after he took bar work to pay the bills and kindly gave a lonely customer a cup of tea on the house.
Over a terrifying three-year period, Martha sends Donny more than 41,000 emails, voicemails totalling 350 hours, dozens of social media messages, and 106 pages of letters, where she refers to him as 'baby reindeer' – hence the show's title.
Richard is a Scottish comedian who first wrote the drama as a stage play, which went on to receive an Olivier Award – he has revealed he was once suicidal over the shocking stalker threat. This week it was revealed he's reportedly a millionaire and using a different name, while Piers Morgan went on to interview the 'real-life Martha'.
But now fans have been left devastated by the sudden death of another of its key players.
Eagle-eyed views may have noticed that the sixth episode of the show includes a dedication to someone called Llewellyn Harrison, saying: "In loving memory of Llewellyn Harrison."
Llewellyn is credited throughout the season as camera crew on the show, with his role as 'key grip'.
A key grip oversees equipment for a production, including coordinating its transportation and the positioning of cameras. IMDb also details that he worked on TV shows including Top Boy, Death in Paradise, Silent Witness and Holby City, as well as movies such as The Marvels and Everybody's Talking About Jamie.
A JustGiving page has been set up to raise money for his family, with the target of £500 blown away by donations totalling more than £12,000. The page states: "Llewellyn was a much-loved colleague, friend and mentor to many. His sudden death has shocked us all, and his absence will be truly missed.
"We would like to take this opportunity to raise funds for the family he leaves behind."
Tragically it would appear that his family included a partner, and young children, as one tribute reads: "So sad and very sorry to hear the devastating news about Llew, he really was such a lovely man. Sending all our love to Tracy, kids and family at this difficult time."
Another heartfelt message says: "Very very sad news. A tragic loss. Thoughts are with his family, I know he had a young daughter who came along to the set of a Little Mix video I did with Lew a few years back."
Meanwhile Clerkenwell Films, the production company for Baby Reindeer, posted: "Our deepest condolences to the family. He was a wonderful man who was a credit to his profession."
And a Holby colleague added: "Since the days of Holby it's been great fun to work by your side Llew. A warm hug and a proper catch up whenever our paths crossed. You will be missed. Much love to your family. Such a loss."
